Aluminium-Zinc (Alu-Zinc) coated corrugated sheet, often branded as”Galvalume” or “Zincalume”, is a high-performance steel sheet coated with an alloy of “55% aluminium, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon”. This unique coating provides superior corrosion resistance compared to traditional galvanized sheets. The corrugated profile enhances structural strength and weather resistance, making it ideal for demanding environments.

Specifications

Base Material: Cold-rolled steel with a typical thickness range of 0.3 mm to 1.5 m.

Coating Weight: Expressed as AZ coating grades (e.g., AZ100, AZ150, AZ200), indicating the total coating weight in grams per square meter (e.g., AZ150 = 150 g/m²).

Corrugation Profiles: Common patterns include trapezoidal, sinusoidal, or tile-edge waves, with wave heights ranging from 15 mm to 75 mm.

Standard widths: 600 mm to 1,200 mm (adjustable during production).

Custom lengths: Up to 12 meters for large-span installations.

Standards: Complies with ASTM A792, JIS G3321, or EN standards.

Applications

Roofing & Wall Cladding: Widely used in industrial, commercial, and residential buildings, especially in coastal or high-humidity regions.

Agricultural Structures: Barns, poultry houses, grain silos, and greenhouses due to durability and heat reflectivity.

Industrial Facilities: Factories, warehouses, and chemical plants requiring resistance to corrosive atmospheres.

Solar Panel Mounting: As a substrate for solar installations due to longevity and weatherproof properties.

Key Advantages

Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: The aluminium-zinc coating forms a protective barrier against moisture, salt, and chemical exposure, outperforming standard galvanized sheets by 2-4 times in lifespan (up to 30–50 years).

Heat Reflectivity: Reflective surface reduces heat absorption, improving energy efficiency in buildings.

Lightweight & High Strength: Combines ease of handling with load-bearing capacity, reducing structural support costs.

Aesthetic Flexibility: Available in pre-painted or bare finishes; compatible with color coatings for architectural appeal.

Market Trends

Demand for Longevity: Growing preference in harsh climates (coastal, industrial zones) for materials with extended service life.

Energy-Efficient Construction: Rising use in reflective roofing systems to meet energy-saving regulations (e.g., Cool Roof standards).

Infrastructure Investments: Booming construction in emerging markets (Asia-Pacific, Middle East) drives demand for cost-effective, durable materials.

Circular Economy: Recycling initiatives and eco-labeling boost market appeal among environmentally conscious buyers.

Aluminium-Zinc coated corrugated sheets are redefining durability and efficiency in modern construction. With unmatched corrosion resistance, thermal performance, and adaptability to sustainable practices, they are increasingly replacing traditional galvanized sheets in critical applications. The market is set to expand further, driven by urbanization, climate resilience needs, and advancements in coating technologies.
